What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle but powerful ancient Japanese healing modality. The word 'Reiki' means "Universal Life Force Energy" or "that which is of God." Reiki energy is complete and whole and is used to bring our mind, body, and spirit back into harmony. Reiki helps remind us that we are part of the divine spark of God, and that it lives within us. Because God is love, love is the x-factor that is needed to help us heal. We all have sufficient love in our hearts to heal ourselves and others, yet we fail to realize it (healer, heal thyself).

How does it work?

When we experience illness, it is our body reminding us that we are out of alignment with the Divine Spirit. We begin to experience imbalances throughout the body and mind as the spirit grieves from the emotional distress we have put it under. The illness itself is only a symptom of the underlying cause. Reiki bypasses the illness and goes to the cause, the place where we BELIEVE we are lacking. As humans we tend to store our emotional pain throughout our body, where we feel people won't see them. Reiki is used to raise the vibratory rate within the energy field to break down the emotional blockages we have placed within ourselves. As the vibration is raised a gentle but powerful light enters into our body, cleanses out the emotional darkness, allowing balance to return to the area, which brings relief from the physical ailment.

Because we can never interfere with someone's free will, the recipient must be in agreement to receiving this healing energy, and they are really saying, "I want to make changes in my life."

The Treatment

Reiki energy is channeled from God to the practitioner, to the client, through the practitioners hands. Advanced healers who have done their own healing work can actually channel it through their whole body allowing greater amounts of energy to enter into the etheric field of the client. The client either lies on a table or sits in a chair depending in the treatment. The practitioner begins by placing their hands in a series of different positions throughout the body. There is no need to remove the clothes as Reiki energy passes through same. Reiki energy can come through as hot, warm, cold, or a vibration, depending on what the client may need. Reiki helps the client to deal with unresolved emotional issues that had created the ailment in the beginning. After the treatment a client may feel rejuvenated, calm, and at peace with a deeper sense of whole self.

Reiki is very gentle and it combines well with other types of medical treatments. A full Reiki treatment can take up to 1.5 hours.
